Founded in 1986, the Malaysian Factors Association (MFA) is a non-profit, trade association representing the country’s factoring industry which significantly contributes to commercial finance industry as a whole. The financing needs of SMEs has evolved, making room for alternative finance to complement the traditional bank financing in meeting the new needs of these businesses.
MFA members comprises Private Factoring Firms, Licensed Money Lending Companies and Financial Institutions. As such, our members provide various trade finance products with a particular emphasis on factoring.
MFA strives to promote its objectives and goals to provide efficient access to and delivery of alternative financing solutions namely factoring, together with the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) through appropriate regulatory and legal frameworks and supporting financial infrastructure.
To ensure members are able to provide financial strength and insight to their clients, MFA also provides continuous resource for its members in terms of training, information and public relations opportunities as well as engage in public engagements and education initiatives to raise awareness among SMEs on available alternative financing avenues.
Principal Objective
To represent the Factoring Community in matters related to the Federal and State Government, Government Agencies, Government Link Companies (GLCs), Organisations, Entities and Corporations.
To ensure that all MFA members adopt the highest level of professional ethics and exercise integrity when dealing with clients.
To collaborate with the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) in the evolution and improvement of the factoring activity in Malaysia.
To promote studies on factoring activities in Malaysia and abroad.
To provide advisory services to MFA members on improving their working methods, tax obligations and other related issues.
